Psalms (1)

Thanks to all my readers of the verse of the day. I have used mainly psalms. I’ve been wondering if the psalms would mean anything more if taken in context.

King David was the writer of many of the 150 songs or psalms or prayers in the Old Testament (O.T.) of the Bible.

His life is covered in the historical books of the O.T. although I think it wouldn’t cover everything of David’s life only what was important to the recorders of his life according to their purpose.

We would have to reflect on David’s life to discover what moments caused him to write his psalms. What those psalms would have meant to David, as a king, or as a man who prospered, or as a man who escaped enemies, as a leader, etc.

Yet for my purpose in verse of the day is to make the verse speak for itself, though a more thorough understanding of the context would assist.
