Discouragement (1)

“Don’t be afraid, and don’t be discouraged by what happened.” (Joshua 8:1, Contemporary English Version)

Shocked, dismayed, and lacking understanding, Martin asked why? Rejection, loss, regret, disappointments all seemed to pale in comparison to discouragement, that flat feeling that possessed Martin’s soul. He lost his life savings in the crash and living the rich life crumbled before his very eyes. The downside felt miserable and gave a perspective from the bottom up: the only way forward was to overcome the painful discouragement paralyzing his body and crawl out of the hole.
